NEW DATE FOR 2008 BOOST MOBILE SNOSHO - MAIN EVENT PERISHER FRONT VALLEY, SATURDAY AUGUST 30TH, UNDER LIGHTS
The
Boost Mobile SNOSHO will once again light up the terrain park on
Perisher Blue’s Front Valley in what is dubbed the premier event on the
Australasian snowboard calendar. The
'game show' style event, running from August 29-30, is all about the
best snowboarders, extreme manoeuvres, bright lights, longest rail
slides and spectator action. This
year's SNOSHO boasts a who’s who of elite invitational boarder’s, such
as Boost Team Riders; Max Cookes, Mitch Allan and Jye Kearney along
with 19 Australian and International invitees.

The Boost Mobile SNOSHO will once again light up the terrain park on Perisher Blue’s Front Valley in what is dubbed the premier event on the Australasian snowboard calendar. Breaking away from being a normal snowboarding sports competition, the Boost Mobile SNOSHO, now in its 4th year and now holding the 3 Star TTR badge, is a Game Show style event where it’s all about the best snowboarders, extreme manoeuvres, bright lights, longest rail slides and spectator action.

AUSSIE JUNIOR DEFEATS WORLD'S BEST AT BOOST MBILE SURF SHO PRESENTED BY NOKIA
WILDCARD entrant Owen Wright (Culburra, NSW) is surfing’s undisputed high-flyer after taking down the greatest-ever line-up of aerialists at the Boost Mobile Surf Sho presented by Nokia at Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast today. The Australian Junior champion stamped his mark on the second-annual tournament, soaring past surfing’s top names including reigning world champion Mick Fanning (Coolangatta, QLD), world no.2 Bede Durbidge (Currumbin, QLD) and defending event champion Taj Burrow (Yalingup, WA) to take the crown in excellent 1.5-metre beach break conditions. 18-year-old Wright out-flew his fellow finalist Luke Stickley (Byron Bay), boosting high over Surfers Paradise with a near-perfect 9.93 aerial move in the dying minutes of the 25-minute final to fly away with the winner-takes-all $25,000 prize cheque for the biggest pay day of his career.

BULLYING 2.0; TEENS REPORT NEW FORMS OF HARASSMENT VIA TEXT MESSAGING Survey Results Reveal 1 in 4 Australian Teens Have Been Bullied Via Their Mobile; 86% Receiving Offensive Text Messages A survey released today from girlfriend.com.au* reveals that bullying has taken on new forms in recent years, shifting from the classroom and playgrounds to the digital and mobile worlds. The survey found that 24% of Australian youth between 13-18 years old have been cyber bullied via text messages.
